Backyard Homestead Design & Installation

Generate abundance, be healthy, save money,  Do you want fruit trees, veggie beds, chickens, bees, rain gardens, an outdoor kitchen… where does it all go? and how can you design it to work with the ecological realities of your site and fit in with your time and budget.  In this three-day workshop students will create a permaculture design for real clients on a one acre property in Northampton and then learn how to take it off of the paper and install it in a permablitz.  

We will learn: 

• How to analyze and assess a homestead (using a solar pathfinder, soil tests, data overlay & reading the landscape)
• Tips on how to move from goals & site analysis and assessment to design concept
• How to use graphics and words to effectively communicate your ideas
• How to recommend the most appropriate permaculture techniques for the landscape and clients
